Privacy Policy

Account information: Name, email address, firm name, phone number, and billing details when you register.

Case data: Information you enter about clients, cases, medical providers, liens, and related legal matter details. This data belongs to you and your firm.

Usage data: Log data, IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, and feature interactions collected automatically.

Communications: Emails, support requests, and messages you send us.

Payment data: Billing information processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.

We use collected information to: provide and improve the NYL platform; process billing and payments; send service notifications and product updates; respond to support requests; and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information or your clients' data to third parties.

Case data you enter — including client names, contact details, medical information, and settlement figures — is treated as confidential. We access this data only as necessary to provide the service (e.g., to display it in your dashboard, generate documents, or run AI analysis you initiate).

You retain ownership of all case data. You may export or delete your data at any time from your account settings.

We share data only in the following circumstances:

Service providers: Trusted vendors (hosting, email delivery, payment processing, AI inference) who process data on our behalf under confidentiality agreements.

Legal requirements: When required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of NYL, its users, or the public.

Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice provided to affected users.

We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, encrypted storage, access controls, and regular security audits. No system is 100% secure. If you discover a vulnerability, please report it to simon@notyourlawyer.ai.

We retain your account and case data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Upon account termination, we will delete or anonymize your data within 90 days unless retention is required by law.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you; object to or restrict certain processing; and request data portability. To exercise these rights, contact simon@notyourlawyer.ai.

California residents may request disclosure of personal information we have collected, sold, or disclosed in the past 12 months. We do not sell personal information. To submit a CCPA request, contact us at the email below.
